Distance Learning Students can still get Post Graduate Work Permit in Canada

Due to the unforeseen circumstances that befell the globe due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is now allowing international students to study online while overseas and still be eligible to apply for Post Graduate Work Permit upon graduation.

IRCC made this announcement on the 14th of May, 2020

However, International students need to be accepted into a Canadian Designated Learning Institutions (DLI). They can complete up to 50% of their program while abroad. IRCC will not deduct the length of their PGWP for the time spent outside Canada, until December 31, 2020.

PGWP is one of the major reasons international students prefer Canada because it enables them to work in Canada for up to three years upon graduation.

Canadian Education and PGWP reward Permanent Residency applicants with more Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

Processing is now ongoing for the Fall (2020) and Winter (2021) intakes into Canadian Universities and Colleges. You can reach out to us through the contact us page.
